Description
If there is one area that confuses both beat-makers and producers alike it is the management of “the Low End” in the mix. It can be extremely difficult to understand how to get the bass and kick to sit comfortably with each other: for example, in Urban genres the difficulty can be to get a 909 bass drum not to conflict with the bass-line and in EDM the low end can be even harder to manage as there are many sounds that encroach into this frequency range.
This series shows how to construct killer beats, process epically low bass-lines and lay down savage rhythms! But it also goes even further and demonstrates how to layer drum sounds professionally, dynamically processing your existing low-end 808s and bass-lines into delicious rhythms and ripping (profile and extract) your favourite drum beats from commercial songs and making them your own, using your own custom-designed drum sounds.
While I thought I already knew a fair bit about many of these techniques, I gained a huge amount of new knowledge to help me combine my own low-end components to maximum effect and most of all how to inject life and movement into my grooves. I shall be returning to this Low End eBook again and again.
